Thank goodness! I thought I was going crazy. I heard the helicopter as well and thought it was the same one circling. But then I started dreaming about helicopters so this morning when I woke, I wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't.
my wife heard them. i could sleep through an earthquake.

My wife an I could not sleep through it. We got up and went to see if it was an accident on 395. There were police cruisers throughout the neighborhood. They were searching for a fugitive. Haven't seen anything on the news about it.
That's good to know atleast that. My husband and I were awoken by it as well. We've been a little disappointed not to have heard anything about what was going on.
Maybe it will show up in the Arlington County crime report. That usually a couple of days behind though.
It was on the news this morning- a man followed a woman into a building on 31st street.

Thanks for posting the article. I called the police non-emergency number in the morning to find out about it (and complain if it wasn't the police) and they just said they were "dealing with a situation." It's good to know the outcome.
