Your transportation correspondent forgot to mention that addition of the mighty Metrobus 7Y route. It was actually added at the end of 2010, but for this purpose we call it out for 2011. It is the only bus route that goes from Shirlington into Washington DC. The first stop is the Pentagon where the bus continues onto South Eads Street until 15th Street (Crystal City), then goes to Washington DC by way of beautiful, historical Constitution Avenue to "Federal Triangle" near Pennsylvania and 10th Street.
Note that the 7Y only runs during rush hours
